At Abu Simbel in ancient Egypt, death lurks beneath the giant statue of Rameses. Returning from a lion hunt, Prince Meren and his brother stop at the new temple worksite and discover the body of the Chief Architect. Meren suspects Kashta, the Nubian who had been their guide. They pursue him, but are split up. When Meren returns to Abu Simbel, he is horrified to find his brother murdered and lashed to one of their father's great images. Meren' is wounded in an ambush by Kashta and his men but the prince is rescued and taken north to Thebes to recuperate at the home of his betrothed, the lady Isetnofret. A small piece of leather is picked up by Mios, the prince's cat, and is found to be a clue to the murder. It sends the prince once again on the trail of the killer. Kashta's evil intentions reach inside the palace itself and puts Meren's mother, Queen Nefertari in danger. Murder at Abu Simbel takes the reader on an adventure filled with action and romance, and brings to life a g;lorious civilization unlike any other. This is the third in a series of Ancient Egyptian cat mysteries.
