Poetic art is an expression that refers, in the first place, to Aristotle (384-322 BC) and his treatise on poetry. As far as we think and think we know, this treatise, composed towards the end of the author's life, reveals the achromatic character of an important part of the Aristotelian corpus. In the Poetics, Aristotle's rationale is based on mimesis, active and creative imitation, and catharsis, which refers to the purification of souls through the emotional discharge brought about by drama. ... Poetry would have been created by men capable of imitation, through improvised rehearsals.
