Ara Hunter is a World War One veteran who returns to his rural Indiana home near the banks of the Wabash River. He finds the area not only struggling economically due to the war, but most of the farms damaged and some destroyed by severe storms. After repairing the barn on the family farm, neighbors ask Ara if he can help them do the same. As Ara works through his post traumatic stress by lending help to farmers in the area, a malevolent force is working against him from the other side of the county. A power hungry, greedy, aspiring land baron is forcing struggling and leveraged families off their farms. The two are on a collision course. Set in 1919, the story is a battle between good and evil, a struggle between right and wrong. It's a story of friendship, family, loyalty, and love, all taking place in the bucolic landscape and lifestyle of the early 20th century era.
