Virgil Pitcher has only known he's a Nephilim, half human half angel, a few months since joining his fraternity, the Omegas. Virgil's second semester of his freshmen year at college finds him navigating the perils of romance and taking on fraternity missions with his friends to battle demons. Meanwhile Nephilim across the globe are training for the upcoming Paladin Games. A tournament held every five years in the floating Nephilim city of Alexandros, the Nephilim capital. The winning Chapter of the tournament is given the Chalice of Immortals, becoming its guardians and protectors. Summer vacation begins and Virgil and his brothers travel to Alexandros. Among the miles of sprawling city, Virgil meets new friends, and enemies, and the games begin! Virgil's identity as one of the Seven Seraphs can be hidden no longer, as he encounters all but the Seventh Seraph. The alliances of the Seven Seraphs shift, and the Paladins are betrayed by one of their own. Virgil comes face to face with his father, the Fallen Angel, Raphael, for the first time in the Death Dealer prison of Hel. Virgil's own allegiances are put to the test as he is encouraged to take his place at his father's side, taking on the mantle of the Reaver, to abandon his place as the Redeemer. Virgil must choose whom he will fight for, and where he will stand as the coming war of Ragnorak, and the rise of Diablos imminently approaches.
