Free-spirited Moira Veranis seems to run into trouble wherever she goes. It's hard to live in the shadow of her perfect older sister and her dutiful big brother. Her parents are always getting upset with her. And on top of all that, there is something mysterious going on. Strange tracks have been found in the forest and Father has called Reilly away to help him with something. But Moira isn't allowed to help, or see the tracks, or do anything. She is almost twelve years old, but everyone still thinks she's too young for everything. It isn't fair! Reilly gets to do everything. Alyssa is too wrapped up in being a perfect little lady to care about mysterious tracks or anything else. So Moira decides that she will just have to investigate all on her own. When Moira decides to go for a swim, she finds herself in far deeper trouble than she ever would have imagined. What will her parents say when she has to tell them about her latest adventure? Will she get in trouble yet again? Can Moira ever make her parents proud of her?
