After making a textbook landing at Guadalcanal, the US Marines find they are pitted against a tough and tenacious enemy in the Japanese Army. The US Navy likewise finds they are facing newer and first line ships and the best torpedo in World war II. The USS Trout and USS Ryan are tasked with stopping the Tokyo Express and their supplies from reaching Guadalcanal. Chiefs Sean Randall, Bart Singleton and the team are dispatched to spy and photograph the operations and aircraft at an enemy airfiesl deep in enemy terriatory. The chances for their success are slim at best. Their survival chances are less.
