It's two weeks before the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and the women are making their plans to make the holidays as special as they always were. Lucas and Luke decide the prices at the stockyards are probably as high as they are going to get, and not wanting to have to feed the cattle over the winter they decide to drive the herd to Dodge before the holidays. Bob and Mary Henry continue their relationship with each other and it the more serious they become, the more complicated their lives become. This Christmas will be little Lee's first Christmas and the entire family is looking forward to celebrating it together and with him being the center of attention. Luke and Lucas spend time together discussing something in private that they feel will inconvenience Worthington at the bank in St. Louis, and make plans to travel to St. Louis after the holidays to execute those plans. They plan to stop in Kansas City on the way to St. Louis and see Lucas' sister Emily and her family, and begin to put their plan for Worthington together. Emily and Helen make a hasty decision to visit the Henry Ranch, and that decision changes both of their lives.
