When the Fairies Sing Bill Boon
When the Fairies Sing
Bill Boon
This poem was written for children so they might become acquainted with a beautiful part of nature WOODLAND WILDFLOWERS. These are flowers that literally cannot wait for Spring. They come on early, before the trees blot out the sunshine with a canopy of leaves. So they must emerge, grow leaves, bloom and store food for the next year in so little time. They are constantly having to deal with late frosts and snow that slow the whole process. The story is woven around this natural concept and includes a plump little fairy called Waffle who eventually solves their problems, including one of his own.
