Imagine 400+ students in a collegiate auditorium, standing room only, (20 on a waiting list), and all eager to learn. Music is escalating down the halls as balloons ricochet haphazardly, some students are dancing and all are laughing. It is a class on Creativity and it is a PARTY HAPPENING. Through the laughter? CREATIVE ideas are flowing, and there is no threat of criticism. (After all, they are only kidding around.) Together, creative projects are launched like water-balloons and the teacher is the target, cardboard transforms into boat races, snowboarding--but there is no snow, and a personal favorite; come to class with no clothes on. Did I mention, the media loves this stuff? It is the most popular class on campus, because it gets the Creative Juices flowing. Having taught this class for 20-years, I believe it should be a part of every college campus. It is a class that brings back the child who once thought education was exciting and sometimes even fun.
