Jessie Winslow, a twenty year old girl, who has spent most of her life in Foster Homes, sets off from Kansas for New York to make a new life. Her college training as a court stenographer lands a lucky spot at the Federal Courthouse. Along the way she meets Morgan, who offers to have her move in and out of the YWCA. Their lives intermingle and soon Jess and Morgan become partners in the Big Apple. Jessie questions her feelings along the way. All of it new to her but all of it feeling much better than the life she came from. From attempted robberies, to attempted rape, to drunken lesbian haters, the two encounter the gambit of two women living in the big city. This is a story of two women forming a bond together that holds up against all odds. Their passion for each other and life holds strong through all of their adventures. A story about luck at its best but then sometimes luck deserts us and life rears its ugly head. What will it be in Jessie's case, now that she?s on her own?
