He and his wife, Susan Conway, have traveled extensively and have visited many engineering and technical sites around the world. He is a member of the US National Academy of Engineering, a Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Science, and a Life Fellow in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He recently retired from teaching in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Texas-Austin, but remains active in research. Contributor Bio: Howell, Jack John R.
