The attempted murder of a Kentucky State Trooper pulled the Old Dogs out of retirement and into the vortex of environmental crimes and ecocide. A new criminal venture evolved from the political "Swamp" where lobbyists and federal regulators provided their clients with land to develop and dump sites for their toxic wastes. The fragile ecosystems; rivers, forests, marshes and their animal inhabitants had no voice, but the Old Dogs would give them one. They pursued this new criminal cartel, inspired by the warning made centuries before by the spiritual leader of the Oglala Lakota: "Some day the earth will weep; she will beg for her life with tears of blood. You will make a choice, to help her or let her die. And when she dies, you too will die." The posse had formed and the Old Dogs were on the road again.
