There are some people who are just plain nosy, they have to take care of other people's business. Hattie Mae Berry was one of these people so when Hattie Mae opened a letter addressed to her neighbor, Wallace Sweeney, she set events in motion that would harm many people. The contents convinced Hattie Mae Sweeney was a hit man; she confronted him and told him that if the person in the picture (Senator Land) was killed, she would turn the package over to the authorities; before the week is out, Hattie Mae is offering the package to Sweeney if Sweeney will kill her son-in-law (Brendon White) who engineered the car accident that almost killed her daughter, Leah, but it can't be proven. While Leah is in the hospital Senator Land commits suicide and White is brutally murdered; Hattie Mae is convinced Sweeney committed both acts and in a confrontation with her daughter, Leah, she tells Leah all, including that she asked Sweeney to kill White. The conversation is overheard by a nurse who repeats it to a cop, which has local law enforcement investigating Sweeney. Then, both Sweeney and Leah are targeted and running for their lives....
