Cape Town 1976. At the peak of the student riots an activist is born. Catherine's flight from apartheid South Africa leads to an accidental meeting with a man who would alter the course of her life. Sussex, England 1984. Jeremy McCaan, a professional soldier, sends a missile into a heavily guarded air-force base and an international man-hunt is launched. Another fateful encounter between Catherine and Jeremy sparks a tumultuous love affair which endures a decade of fear and insecurity as they run for their lives, pursued by Interpol and MI5. Their journey takes them from rural England, through Kenya until it reaches its dramatic conclusion in the coastal village of Hout Bay, South Africa.
