For our 40th release on Area Remote we’re excited to welcome Smokin Jo who’s back with her fourth release on our label. Smokin Jo is one of the most talented DJ’s to emerge from the British dance music scene and her cutting edge sound has carved her a niche in clubland. She’s played in pretty much every corner of the globe (when she’s not at Space Ibiza for her summer residency) and remains the only female DJ to have won DJ magazines ‘DJ Of The Year’ award. Production wise she’s been busy solo working under her moniker TRNSSTR alongside production partner Pete Gleadall, as well as her other projects collaborating with the talented likes of Nicole Moudaber, Marc Romboy, D Ramirez… and is now busy recording an album with a famous singer – but she’s keeping the name under wraps for now. We’re happy she found time to bring her head up from her busy schedule to give us Heads Down.
