Raucherecke
Welcoming the Cologne based duo of Sebastian Habben and Joschka Tschirley, or better known as RaucherEcke comes to us with great pleasure. The pair have grown in leaps since their 2009 debut on 200 Records "Libido 200". Moving away from their minimal approach to techno found in their first productions, the boys now show us their affection for dancefloor driven music here with the "Papierfabrik EP". "Der Tropfende Kessel" flows with deep emotion, augmented by a spine tingling melody reminiscent of the 2005 "Isborn" by Akzidenz Grotesk. "Drei Toepfe" has it's roots set here in Cologne in the late morning; the overly clear drum sequencing and droning synth communicating the start of the "after hours". "Papierfabrik" is a tribute to the Cologne warehouse club that became a home for many on the weekends, only to see it's demise shortly more than one year after it's creation. With emotive chords, expressive pads, and driving percussive lines, Raucherecke revive the fond memories shared within the old Paper Factory's walls.
