Boyd Spanner has just been released from a Texas prison after spending three years at hard labor for killing a pimp. The strange thing is that the town where the killing took place, Jefferson, now wants Boyd, a known hardcase, to be their new Sheriff. Carpetbaggers, civil, political and military officials, have made life on the riverboat port miserable as an official part of Reconstruction. One of those against Boyd is the young soiled dove who was being pistol whipped by her pimp when Boyd saved her life. Is there any way this can work?
