Heart of Gold - The Songs of Neil Young: Out of the Blue (Vol. 2)

Neil Young's unique song catalog is celebrated on Out of the Blue (Vol. 2), the second volume in the tribute series Heart of Gold: The Songs of Neil Young. The album collects 12 newly recorded interpretations of the legendary Canadian songwriter's music, delivered by an impressive array of artists from rock, folk, americana, and alternative music.

Among the contributors are My Morning Jacket, who, together with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, give their take on the epic "Like a Hurricane," while Heart lead singer Ann Wilson interprets "Walk With Me." Peter Frampton and John Jorgenson collaborate on the classic "Heart of Gold," and Lucinda Williams puts her personal touch on "Don't Be Denied." The album also features Los Lobos' version of "Cinnamon Girl," Edie Brickell's interpretation of "Only Love Can Break Your Heart," and Draco Rosa's atmospheric version of "After the Gold Rush."

Like the other releases in the series, Out of the Blue (Vol. 2) is created to benefit The Bridge School, which Neil Young and Pegi Young founded in 1986. The organization helps children and young people with extensive physical disabilities and communication difficulties. All contributing artists have donated their recordings to the project, and the proceeds from the release go to the organization's work.
