The remixers of "Immortal" are, in every respect, good, old friends of Kiki, possessing roots of musical supremacy. Anja Schneider's accomplishments need no introduction as she transforms Kiki's manic mood compelling title into a modern sounding hegemonic DJ-friendly house track. Kiki's instrumental version develops an irresistible, vigorously hypnotic atmosphere pushing the track's powerful boundaries. It's no surprise this complex track is currently the absolute high point in Kiki's liveset. Workaholic, Holger Zilske has released under the name Smash TV, produced various Ellen Allien albums and, now, under his common name, is headed down the Playhouse route with a highly praised new album. After a spooky intro, he sets a super-fat, bouncy beat in the middle of the track as serene funk sounds circulate a new life as well as a second face - a real stroke of genius. Subb-Ann is a young, newcomer from Birmingham and a resident DJ in Below, one of the best English clubs to date. He reduces "Immortal" to an elementary and technoid driven beat, underscoring it and thereby refreshing the musical versatility of the record.
