Finnish jazz supergroup Mortality's self-titled debut is a concept album exploring the limits of human existence. Blending prog rock aesthetics with the harmonic and tonal soundscapes of jazz and improvisation, the album features compositions by Tapio Ylinen, arranged by each member. Despite its heavy theme, loss, the music remains delicate, melodic, and unified in its hopeful tone.
