The tour recordings on "Labor Of Love" from the 1990s slumbered in the archives for decades, although they were recorded at the time by producer Tim Duffy using high-quality audiophile technology. Now, through the release of Analogue Productions, listeners can finally enjoy an absolutely vivid rendition of selected sessions from the blues musician's 42-city tour.

Mahal was miked at close range, allowing every nuance of his guitar playing and vocals to be captured with wonderful clarity. Classics like "Creole Bell," "John Henry," "Hambone" and even the instrumental "Zanzibar" are given a stage where every detail can be felt up close. We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" LP cleaner to wet wash your vinyl. Even new records of high quality production will benefit from this.
