Organic soul music. Chris Burke is a soulful singer-songwriter from Birmingham, Alabama, and his influences reflect his Southern up-bringing. You can hear hints of Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye without trying too hard. Chris Burke and Pat McGrath, producer and co-writer, have teamed up in developing a sound and musical style to support Chris' unique and identifiable voice. This process has taken three years in writing, demoing, re-writing, etc. And has led them to the completion of the self titled CD, Chris Burke. It's Pop music rooted in Soul and R&B, but it's also organic, nothing programmed or manufactured. It's real musicians behind Chris, playing deep grooves with attention to detail. It's a refreshing change from the musical landscape.
