Allan Moyle directs this cult 1980s tale of teenage rebellion on the streets of New York. Nicky (Robin Johnson), a punk rock wannabe with an attitude to match, and Pamela (Trini Alvarado), the lost and lonely child of a rich but distant father, meet in a New York mental institute. Despite the vast contrast in their personalities and upbringings, the two girls click and hatch a plan to escape.

While on the run the pair duly indulge in punk rock excess, forming a band, The Sleez Sisters, and earning the attention of DJ Johnny DeGuardia (Tim Curry). With fame and a better life beckoning, can the girls stay true to themselves and each other?
