Intense drama in which a woman who loses her sweetheart to an unfortunate accident elects to raise a clone of her dead lover. Rebecca (Eva Green) and Thomas (Matt Smith) were youthful companions. When they meet again as adults they embark on a passionate relationship that is cut tragically short by the death of Thomas in a traffic accident.

Unable to bear the thought of living without her soulmate, Rebecca decides to make use of the latest technology to have a clone of Thomas implanted in her womb. Rebecca duly bears and raises another Thomas, but her decision leads to inevitable complications. As well as facing the disapproval of society and close family members, as Thomas approaches maturity her motherly feelings become dangerously mixed in with the romantic compulsions of her youth...
