Through the Ages
Richard Wyatt and Polly Lloyd present this documentary chronicling the history of Bristol. Originally a Saxon settlement, Bristol is one of England's most famous dockland cities, and included here is footage of the opening of both the Avonmouth Docks in 1902 and the Royal Edward Dock in 1908. Also included are scenes from two Jubilees - those of George V in 1937 and Elizabeth II in 1977 - shots of the Brabazon and Concorde being built, and rare colour footage of Prime Minister Winston Churchill examining the damage caused by the Blitz.
