Gentle British romantic drama set in the fading world of the seaside variety show. Roger Lloyd-Pack stars as Norman, the elderly manager of a once-grand end-of-pier theatre in Cromer, Norfolk who is struggling to keep the theatre alive and uncorrupted by the forces of commercialism and modern life. Salvation eventually comes to Norman and his long-suffering assistant Sandra (Niamh Cusack) in the unlikely form of an impersonator of 1960s singing sensation Alma Cogan.
