Brandon Flowers | Thrasher
Brandon Flowers will release THRASHER, his first solo album in over a decade, August 21, 2026 via Island Records. Recorded in Nashville at Historic RCA Studio A with longtime producers Shawn Everett and Jonathan Rado, THRASHER features many of Music City’s most renowned players, including longtime Gillian Welch collaborator David Rawlings on guitar, prolific and influential pedal steel player Bruce Bouton, and Charlie McCoy, the legendary harmonica player whose signature playing graces all four of Bob Dylan’s iconic Nashville records. Rooted in his formative childhood years in the small town of Nephi, Utah, the timeless sonic approach proves to be the ideal home for Flowers’ most personal and vulnerable songwriting yet.
As frontman and the undisputed creative focal point of the Las Vegas band The Killers, Brandon Flowers has for over twenty years delivered some of the 21st century's biggest and most enduring indie and pop-rock anthems. With his bombastic vocals, flamboyant stage persona, and a deep love for 80s British new wave, he has led his band to global arena status with immortal classics like "Mr. Brightside" and "When You Were Young".
THRASHER: Brandon Flowers delves into country and Americana
Alongside The Killers' massive success, Brandon Flowers has always felt the need to explore more personal, American roots within his songwriting universe. His first two solo albums, Flamingo (2010) and The Desired Effect (2015), cemented his abilities as a mature pop craftsman in his own right, but since the latter, over a decade has passed without new solo material. Now, he finally breaks the hiatus with the announcement of his long-awaited third solo album, THRASHER, which can be pre-ordered on vinyl, CD, and cassette right here at iMusic.
Where The Killers are known for their glittering, neon-lit synths and stadium-scaling guitar riffs, THRASHER marks a significant, yet natural, stylistic shift for Brandon Flowers. The album, set to be released in August 2026, fully dives into an organic, down-to-earth country and Americana sound. Although Flowers has previously flirted with dusty, American road moods on The Killers masterpiece Sam's Town (2006) and the intimate Pressure Machine (2021), with THRASHER, he takes the plunge completely.
