My Gift of Heritage: Your Past That Will Take You into the Future. Earl J Spivey

"My Gift of Heritage" tells the story of one growing up on a small farm in Northeastern South Carolina. It takes you into the enjoyable and scarry experiences of farm living. It occurs during the turbulent transition of Southern living in the 1960's. Farming went from using horses to machinery, from family operated to the beginning of industrial corporations and the struggle of families being forced out of a long-held way of life. This book calls the reader to reflect back upon their family's past and see the foundation upon which their life is built. It also calls each reader to consider their future as growing out of their past. Here you will be challenged to enjoy stories from a day gone bye, but more importantly, build a future that rests upon solid and proven values that secure both family and community. Enjoy going with the author through the various experiences of farm living. Look at the stories and events that make his heritage. Look closely at the challenge for us to build better individual lives, families, and communities by living from honorable and valuable heritage roots.
