In Jamming with Jojo and DJ, the stories feature two best friends; Jojo and DJ who take us on their amazing and fun-filled daily adventures. Here, they enter the sometimes scary and often exciting world of new friendships and the emotional planet of girlfriends. Jojo and DJ confront ignorant bullies, even if he is a friend. They learn the unfortunate consequences of disobeying their parents and even deal with the death of a loved one. Jojo and DJ have banging block parties, take thrilling trips and eat fantastic food especially ice cream. Most of all, Jojo, DJ and their friends love to sing.

The book contains ten, short stories, each of which ends in a spectacular song. These songs are found on the companion music album titled "Block Party".
