It's the most wonderful time of the year - to bury yourself in a good book, that is. With the winter winds howling and the fire crackling, there's no better season to just curl up and read the day away. And what's nicer to read about during the holidays than Christmas itself?

It's time for the First Annual Blue Moon Stables Christmas Party! Mrs. Fitzpatrick, the owner and riding instructor at Blue Moon Stables, has invited Sidney Sinclair and all her other riding students to the stables for the party and a sleepover afterward, and the young riders have been looking forward to it for weeks. Once the party starts, however, the weather starts to look bad. Snow and ice threaten to derail the party, and to Mrs. Fitzpatrick's horror, Sadie, one of the horses boarding at Blue Moon, seems to be sick. Then, the prizes for the party games, including Mrs. Fitzpatrick's prize horseshoe, go missing. Will the Christmas party be ruined? Can Sidney and her best friend, Jane Abbot, help Mrs. Fitzpatrick find the missing horseshoe and the other prizes? And what will happen to Sadie?
