A Girl of The Limberlost
Gene Stratton Porter
The tale is set in northeastern Indiana. The majority of the activity happens either in or around the Limberlost, or in the close by, anecdotal town of Onabasha. The epic's primary character, Elnora Comstock, is a devastated young lady who lives with her bereft mother, Katharine Comstock, on the edge of the Limberlost. Elnora faces cold disregard by her mom, a lady who feels demolished by the passing of her significant other, Robert Comstock, who suffocated in a sand trap in the marsh. Katharine faults Elnora for his passing, since her significant other kicked the bucket while she brought forth their girl and couldn't act the hero. The Comstocks bring in cash by selling eggs and other homestead items, yet Mrs. Comstock will not chop down a solitary tree in the woodland, or to dive for oil, as the neighbors around them are doing, despite the fact that the additional pay would make their lives simpler.
