In June 1976 NASA technicians guided the Viking 1 spacecraft into a stable orbit around the planet Mars. While conducting a photographic study of the surface, a strange anomaly was discovered - a stone artifact that resembled a human Face. Later studies of Martian soil and atmosphere discovered a high proportion of Xenon 129, an isotope not found in nature. It's only found where nuclear weapons have been exploded - on Earth and on Mars. Did a nuclear holocaust destroy Mars' ecoSphere and the civilization that lived there at the time? This is a never before explored view into the lives and times of Martians - from their point of view. Every other literary or film exploration of civilization on Mars has been told from Earth's point of view. The Cydonian Star Empire was Martian and this story is told as they might have seen it, lived it, and died defending it.
