In this book, the author recounts the world of the First Republic with the direct experience of those who lived it from the inside. From those who were in close contact with those protagonists who marked the history of Italian politics in the 70s and 80s. These are the fundamental years, the most significant of the post-war period, where Italy is formed again and lays the foundations that will be the pillars of what will happen later, even in our days. It is a story that, after reading a few lines, you can not leave. The author transports you into the atmosphere of the time, even in the nuances of the era and, page after page, episode after episode, you feel involved until you want to know more and more. It begins with the attack of Cima Vallona (1967) lived by the author in an atmosphere of sadness and that conveys the pain of those who have lost a loved one. Then you are catapulted into the life of Venetian politics in the 1970s, the years from which emerge those prominent politicians who will be the protagonists, for twenty years, of the events that have dominated national political life. The story moves to Rome where the author has lived for about 15 years and where he has been a direct spectator of the backstage that exists on the side of Roman politics. The world and the undergrowth of a Ministry with its share of corruption is revealed. The election of a National Secretary of the Christian Democrats. The clashes and struggles for a place in the government. The death of Antonio Bisaglia and his doubts. The rise of Antonio Gava. The backstage of an electoral campaign in a territory contaminated by the Camorra. All told by the author in his capacity as protagonist.
