As a child, you were always told to respect your elders and to not say ill manner things about grown-ups, and that's exactly what I did, not say anything, not a word about what happened to me when I was abused by a family member a cousin. Children are supposed to be protected, but no one was there for me. The book is the depiction of one young man's journey to manhood and the struggles and secrets he had to keep from his mother, family, and the world. There may be some of you out there reading the book, that knows exactly what I am saying, but take it from me you can cope, and try at some sense of normalcy, but it will take a lot of work on your part to mentally recover, heal, and going through the medical professionals for help, who can be an ear to listen and like me start writing it down, your pain, hurt and thoughts, just remember you can take your control back, it is in your hands. I hope this story helps you all in some small way to realize that there is some messed up people and stuff that happens to children still today and you have to have a watchful eye over them and tell them you will believe them if they tell you something bad that happened or happening. Abuse in any form is dead wrong!
