Women Living in a Patriarchal World Alexis DeCicca
Women Living in a Patriarchal World
Alexis DeCicca
I did a poem as my Feminist Manifesto project for my Feminist Theory class at Suny Brockport about struggles girls continue to encounter because they are female in a world that is designed for men, and this project helped me create another similar Zine project based on girls and women living in a patriarchal world. I also included my women and film essay on the movie Thirteen which depicts that family means everything, especially at the age of thirteen; and I included my research project on the struggles Billy Holiday and Aretha Franklin faced but overcame their obstacles and became one of the most well-known artists in music history. We should not divide between a patriarchal or matriarchal society, we should be as one! Females need to be respected, and be treated equally.
