Scroll below for a video example(s) of several of the duets as played on Finale. These delightful Bach minuets are intended for intermediate to advanced level recorder players (or a student with teacher). They are arranged for soprano and tenor recorder (or two soprano recorders). Wolfgang Schmieder assigned numbers to Bach's works in 1950, grouping compositions by genre, largely following the 19th-century Bach-Gesellschaft (BG) edition. The BWV Anh. is an abbreviation of Bach-Werke-Verzeichnis Anhang (German for Bach works catalogue annex). It is a listing of lost, doubtful, and spurious compositions by, or once attributed to, Johann Sebastian Bach. This valuable collection of minuets, which are elegant dances popular in the Baroque era with the aristocracy, are appropriate for varied performances in school, church, civic, and more by performers of all ages and abilities. The duets could also be performed by or with other C instruments in treble clef, such as flute, oboe, and violin. Place this volume in your files. The purchaser is free to make copies of parts for rehearsal and performance purposes for years to come.
