When the only doctor in the rural farming area of Dekete, Zimbabwe, Dr. Moira Phiri-Gwiriri is found dead under suspicious circumstances in Pachokwadi Farm, the owner of the farm and a new diaspora returnee, Mirai Pachokwadi becomes the first suspect. But police fail to find any evidence to convict her. Further suspicion falls on Mirai when Moira's will is read and Mirai is the main beneficiary of Moira's will and inherits both Moira's fortunes and her ten year old twins. Determined to do the right thing, Mirai accepts the will and takes responsibility for the children. Unbeknown to her, the will is a poisoned chalice. First Mirai's dog is shot dead, then a Dekete socialite is found dead and displayed in Mirai's orchard. As the bodies pile up, Mirai joins forces with the local disorganised Dekete police to find the murderer/s, before she, or those closest to her become the murderer's the next victims.
