A Gripping Family Saga Set in the Mid-Century SouthHannah's House is the story of the little girl, Hannah, from Sunlight and Shadows. This book follows her transformation from a child into a woman. Along the way she has to remember her past before she can come to terms with it and make a future for herself. Travel with her as she remembers who she was and what she had to do to survive her childhood. The journey takes her back into the shadows at times as she faces some hard truths, but just like the child Hannah, the woman Hannah realizes she is her own savior and once again takes control of her life. About the AuthorJ. B. Palmer grew up in a small town in South Carolina during the fifties and sixties. As the youngest child of an older Baptist minister and his much younger wife, her childhood was steeped in religion and cloaked with repression. She wanted to be a writer, but her well-meaning parents thought a young girl's only goal in life should be marriage and children. Though her poetry was published and moderately successful, she laid her pen aside to do what was expected of her - marry a good man and have his babies. After her children were older, she became a columnist for several local newspapers, sharing glimpses of her life with her readers. Her humor about everyday life made her a lot of fans. But it was not until a local theater group performed a play based on a short story she wrote that she realized she had a gift for storytelling. Her Sunlight and Shadows series is the direct result of that realization. Read it for yourself and see what it took her years to discover - that J. B. Palmer is a natural born story teller.
