This is a series of photographs of large and small pieces of driftwood washed up on beaches in the South of France. At first glance, a pile or a piece of driftwood is just that - a pile or a piece of driftwood. But look more closely, and shapes and patterns and forms and subjects can be found in the individual pieces of driftwood. I looked more closely and could make out faces and forms in the wood - sometimes animal ones (a horse, a duck, a platypus, etc), othertimes I could discover almost human faces. These are my Sea Monsters.
