A lot of hard work over many years went into building the enchanting landmark known as Cindy's Orchard. More than a grand destination to experience Nature at her best, it also held promise for those who worked so diligently for its success. No one knows that better than Rachel, Becky and Zeke. They remember well, but they are hesitant to disclose that the orchard wasn't always so beautiful, peaceful, serene and free from threats. A lot of heartaches were endured, and a lot of tears were shed. Aunt Rachel and her niece, Becky, closely shared the early, calmer days in a special way. Then came the years of separation, confusion and mistrust. Rachel and Zeke formed their relationship early on, then their bond faced a calamity that few couples could survive. The wounds and loss brought on by Viet Nam remained as raw as the day they were inflicted, taking their toll on those around. Through it all, though, the embedded memories and love from the early days of Cindy's Orchard offered a beacon of hope that no one could ignore or deny. Finding the strength to re-kindle that hope and love, in spite of the hurtful times, was all they had to do.
