This commentary is based on the Hebrew text of the Bible book of Jonah. It includes extensive introductory material about the life and times of Jonah, the state of Nineveh and the Assyrian empire at the time of Jonah's visit there, and expanded discussions on certain sections of Jonah's text. In addition, the book will aid the expositor by providing suggested sermon outlines for the preaching or teaching of Jonah, as well as additional suggested illustrations that can be used with those outlines. All in all, "this volume should give the Bible expositor ample resources to understand and explain the book of Jonah in a personally satisfying manner that leads to a confident and challenging presentation for one's audience."
