Just PAIN't Sain't Phifer

This is a meeting of minds exploring ekphrastic poetry and art. The works herein detail much of the experiences that are evidenced in black communities across North America through the eyes of the visual artist. The poet responds in rhetoric. The work expresses the melting pot of traumas, joys, what ifs, heroes and more, native to the African American story. The varied art forms herein have been a tool in processing said traumas.
