Dr. Taylor Black, neurologist and neurosurgeon on duty on the ISS Amazonas, the flagship of the Imperial Fleet, has devised a procedure to restore mental content in the damaged brain. Black and Captain Edward Wakeman, after an unexpected evolution in their relationship, had faced seemingly insurmountable challenges that drastically changed their lives. Now everything seems to have settled down, but someone is intent on getting in their way (especially the captain) while a mystery of the past painfully returns to the surface.
