Walking an old hunting trail in the local wilderness park, 18-year-old Bobby McCalister discovers the most frightening sight of his life. Not more than fifteen feet off the trail stood a Yellow Jacket Hornet's nest of epic size. It took his mind a few seconds to realize what this was, and the extreme danger lying before him. He was then just able to escape with his life. Bobby finds it difficult to get people to take him seriously until other large hives are located in the area. The town discovers his story is true but no one is brave enough to fight millions of hornets. Many residents begin leaving town to escape the danger, only making the problem worse as these now-abandoned buildings often become filled with killer hornets. When the entire state of Texas experiences this same problem, the Governor orders the national guard and all exterminators to service the rich first. It is then left up to Bobby, his girlfriend, and older brother to deal with the local threat on their own. Over the next couple of months, the three amateur exterminators get pulled into a world of mind-bending danger and body-stiffening fear as they are forced to help fight one mega hive after another to save his small town from this catastrophic infestation.
