During an unusual midnight thunderstorm, a lone Author is busily scribbling away inside of a journal. A freak power outage brings a halt to the Author's thought process, causing the story draft to be incomplete. The main character in the story is brought to life by the magical properties of the unnatural storm. After searching in vain around the new world for its Author, the Nameless Character decides to leave its own story and wander through the pages of the notebook, visiting various other stories in hopes of finding its missing purpose and name. Having no luck with the other fictional characters that it meets; the Nameless Character is then left with the task of figuring out its own path and continuing where the Author had left off.
