Since adolescence, it was intended by the neighbor and son of the lord of Engenho, Getúlio Cajueiro. It shows the mysticism experienced among Indians, enslaved and Portuguese. Getúlio, falls in love at first sight by the enslaved Evanjú, and tries to buy her, with the aim of manumit her and marry her.... A book full of exciting stories, bringing details of slave labor in the old sugar mills. It shows slave life, underground and bribes on the last slave ships. It shows the anguish experienced by the enslaved in the last ten years, until the officialization of the abolition of slavery.
