A native of Ankara, the young Cihat is looking for vacation lessons to improve his French and thereby the bad grades he makes at the Lycée. The perfection of the documentation received from the University of Lausanne will profoundly change the course of its existence. During his lessons, he meets young students from the École Polytechnique. With his baccalaureate in his pocket, he left his native country to do his studies and his doctorate in Lausanne. He then left to conquer the United States and worked at MIT. He can no longer renew his passport and can no longer reside in Boston. He returned to Switzerland to be naturalized and was appointed professor in the school where he studied. He travels around the world, he crosses the continents from Antarctica to Siberia, from Japan to Latin America, he travels the Silk Road and visits more than a third of the existing countries. All he remembers about himself, believing to be the good sides of each civilization and society, isolate him from those around him. Having become a citizen of the world, all alone, he wonders where he comes from and where he is going.
