Read an incredible true story about about the fate of "Owley", a giant Eagle Owl who befriended two boys. They rescued him when he fell from his nest, gave him shelter and a long term home. He lived in complete freedom until fate intervened. His descendants are still out there and will remain so as long as their habitat is preserved. The story was written by Frank Lamb for his children and grandchildren, but was never published during his life. I (his son Nicholas) have made it my business to put Dad's work out there for everyone to read. Though the story relates to events that happened a century ago and was written more than 40 years ago, it remains a salient reminder that we humans need to come to our senses and start to respect nature. If we don't, we risk obliterating the diversity needed to make our planet habitable
