Changing LDS Messages for Blacks, Feminists, & Gays
Taylor Petrey
Dr. Taylor Petrey discusses how rhetoric from LDS leaders about blacks, gays, and women has both accommodated and pushed back against American society's push for civil rights for these three groups. LDS discourse has changed markedly over the 20th century. We'll talk about his new book Tabernacles of Clay, and how much future change could follow past examples of change with regards to both race and feminism.
