Every writer's process of getting words to paper takes on a life force of its own. Since childhood, Tanika Johnson's process resulted in stacks of poetry. She would often get on a writing jaunt, meandering through the depth of one story and come to a roadblock. Tanika would then take pen to paper and unblock the path with a poem. The short stream of consciousness very often bared no relation to the subject of the prose she was tackling. Tanika would then add it to a pile and forget it existed. As with her first poetry book (Once Again that Loosener of Limbs...) she shared a poem or two with friends who suggested her poems be put together in an anthology. Enjoy!
